Jill lives in Highland, Utah, and we are so thrilled to see a local girl achieve so much success.
She gave one of the most captivating, and inspirational trunk shows I have ever been to. Jill has touched the lives of many through quilting, professionally and in her own family.
Jill has a book coming out this month, and I can hardly wait for it to be available. She read some hilarious quotes, and had us laughing one moment and crying another. Her love of quilting and family was an area so many of us can relate to.

Jill has her own fabric lines. "Meet Me In The Meadow" by Henry Glass is her latest.
The second half of the trunk show, Jill explained the many quilts she has worked on with family members. She started a quilting retreat several years ago, and invited the women in the family to join her. At first, most said they were not quilters and didn't want to come. Once they saw what fun everyone was having, more and more started joining in. Non-quilters became quilters, and the yearly retreats are now large events.
A family member will create a center block. This block will then be mailed from family member to family member, who will add more to the quilt.
These are the kind of quilts that will come from the exchange. We were so impressed as Jill explained that most of this work is from family members who had never quilted previously. Jill must be a great teacher, because the skill level is impressive!

My girlfriend Judi and I contemplated what would happen if we too tried to get our family members together each year for a quilt retreat. If we could get anyone to show up, we have a feeling our quilts wouldn't even resemble anything like these!

Jill's work is beautiful. My Aunt and her husbands side gets together and makes a quilt each year. They are working on great grandkids now. Treasures and memories to pass down.
Jill is really inspiring. I have had several occasions to meet with her and talk and I always come away feeling she's one of the most gracious people I know. She's given me so many suggestions and is so supportive of me as a designer. Not everyone in the business will share information. But Jill is free with who and what she knows and wants to help. Now that's a friend! But she would do it for anyone.
Thanks for sharing that. It was better than going to a quilt show and I got to sit in my easy chair and enjoy without moving a muscle!! Sounds like I am one lazy dude but I'm just tired today.
