Sherri and Dawn

I had the opportunity the other day to meet up with two wonderful quilt blogging friends:

Sherri (A Quilting Life),

and Dawn (Piece & Love)

We met at Sherri's house for a day of sewing and fun. Both ladies live in the same town, which is about an hours drive South of my house, and about an hours drive North of Las Vegas.
I thought I'd give you a peek into Sherri's sewing room. Don't you love to see where other's create? Sherri has been so busy doing wonderful things. She is currently making quilts for Fig Tree and also testing patterns for Stephanie of Loft Creations She also has another project in the works that I will explain at the bottom of this post. Busy (and very talented!) lady!

I also love to see organizational tips for sewing rooms. What a great way to display Moda pre-cuts and notions.

And a wonderful way to have bindings ready to go.

Currently Sherri has several applique projects started. This is a Lori Smith design.

A Tisket A Tasket from Bunny Hill Designs. Sherri is using two layer cakes from the lines "Sweet" and "Swell" for the appliqued pieces.

Sherri shared with me a few of her applique techniques that I am anxious to try on my next project.

Quilts lined most of the walls of Sherri's house. You can check her blog site for more images. I loved this one made from the X-Block technique.

I also have the templates and want to do one of these some day.

Another BIG project Sherri is coordinating right now is A Year Of Schnibbles Club. Sherri and Sinta of Pink Pincushion have gathered over 80 ladies who each month make a different Schnibble from Carrie Nelson's Miss Rosies Quilt Co. There will be prizes and lots of fun.
Get that? They will make a quilt a month. I don't know how she does it all! (Sherri is married and a mother of 4).
Sherri will display her Schnibble quilts in her entry way and exchange them out each month.
I told Sherri and Dawn I always feel so tall standing next to them. I'm only 5'6" but I feel like Amazon Woman in comparison!
We had a great day together and I learned so much. Thanks ladies and I'm looking forward to getting together again soon!

How fun to see Sherri's space! I keep passing Sherri like ships in the night. First at women's Conf at BYU - literally we passed each other (i recognized her Wonderland bag!lol) and then she came into American Quilting last week and my co-worker called to tell me. One day we'll meet in person. :) Looks like a very fun day.
