Material Obsession Two

Look what came in the mail today. I was so happy I almost sat down on the curb by my mailbox and looked through page by page.

If you love anything Kaffe (and I do), and if you love scrap quilts (and I do), then this is the book for you.
Material Obsession Two, co-authored by Kathy Doughty and Sarah Fielke is even better than their first Material Obsession book, and I didn't think that was possible.

*Brighton Rock
MO2 was released in Australia in May and will be hitting the quilt stores in the U.S. in 2010. Thank heavens for Amazon.com where I was able to order on line.

I want to make every single quilt in this book. I have so many Kaffe's in my collection, that at least I have a good place to start.

*The Seasons
These ladies know just the right combinations to use in each block. Such an eye for color.

With wonderful embellishments of rick rack and beads.

*Charlotte Sometimes
Kathy and Sarah own a quilt store in Sydney, Australia by the name of Material Obsession. Their store has been the inspiration behind the books.

I have MO's blog (by Kathy), and Sarah's blog The Last Piece on my side bar.

*Erica's Honesty
I am a big fan of Australian designers and quilters. I think they are real leaders in the industry.

This is just a few sneak peeks from the book, and only the tip of the iceberg. Page after page of wonderful quilts.

*Gypsy Kisses
I think this is my favorite one. I hesitate to pick a favorite, because it's like asking who is your favorite child. I love them all the most for different reasons.

What about you? Which one do you like the best?

*Pop Stars.
I've always loved the Spider Web type of scrap quilts and have collected various patterns over the years. This book has two types that are both stunning.

I am going to go back and read every page again, and look at each picture more closely.
Happy Happy.

Gypsy kisses and pop stars are my absolute favourites in the book. I'm going to make the gypsy kisses in kaffes that's on the cover of his quilt romance book.

That one is my favorite too. If you haven't left yet please bring that book! I love that quilt. I want to look at it more close up and see what the pattern takes. I've been wanting to look at the book before I order it. So glad we can get together tomorrow.

Isn't this book the best yet? I love it and the quilts inside are stunning. Wonderful to see the girls starting with the same idea, and then coming up with two completely different quilts. Love it. What are you going to make from it? xo

Those are some creative and innovative quilts with Kaffe fabrics. WOW! Thanks for sharing. I too am an admirer of his fabrics and usually choose to design with them -- just simple designs. Check them out www.allisonquiltdesigns.com or the blog at www.designtyme.blogspot.com Enjoy...Lori Allsion
