 Modern Quilts are often recognized by the use of 

bold colors and prints

high contrasts

expansive negative space

and

alternate grid work

(including several other characteristics)

The Founding

Modern Quilt Guild was started in Los Angeles in 2009

and now has over 150 Guilds World Wide.
