My Kind of Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.
A day where you felt a little bit spoiled.
Thank you to all women who devote their lives to the care of precious children.

After we arrived home from church, Mr. Cactus and our Son-In-Law treated us to the best presents.

There is nothing more attractive than a man cooking dinner, unless it's two men cooking dinner.

Mr. Cactus makes the best marinade.
And, as a restaurant owner, Dano knows how to cook chicken to perfection.

They prepared a beautiful fruit salad.

With mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus.
Healthy, beautiful food, full of color.
Thank you men!

Mr. Cactus knows that I really don't enjoy watching TV very much, except for PBS and Masterpiece Theater.
Too many of the current shows shock my system.
When I quilt, I often retreat to the safety of classic movies, found through our local library.
Mr. Cactus gave me this Hollywood Cinema Collection with 60 Classic Movies.
Add up the total hours, and I just might get some serious quilting done.
Oh, which one shall I watch first?

He also added in the 2nd season of Downton Abbey.
After reading many of your comments and recommendations, we recently watched the first season on DVD from the library.
We knew Downton Abbey was a must if Jimmy Fallon took notice.

Have you seen his spoofs Downton Sixby ?
You can watch clips over on his web site.
Pick me up off the floor hilarious!

Yes! My Honey grilled steaks yesterday, too. Daughter Catherine did the sides and Aunt Carol brought the dessert. The grands were here to enjoy and hug. :)) What a wonderful Mothers Day. :)

THose movies are my kind of sewing time fillers. Your dinner looks so yummy. Good for you. Glad you had a nice day. I even enjoyed Sacrament meeting, for the most part. Two of the talks were about unperfect women/mothers and how even they deserve God's grace and love. I was so glad that the women weren't perfectionized. I did have to laugh at the bishop's son's talk. He talked about his mother teaching him everything he knows. I wonder is she also taught him how to egg a house? Because Dave caught him and some other deacons doing that.

Jill and I just finished all episodes of Downton Abby--again! Love it. I can't wait for the next season.
You are a wonderful mother Nedra--I've learned a lot about love from you and your example.
Glad you had a great day.
