Three Six Nine

My friend Nicole is a new quilter. Today she came over to learn how to finish the binding on her 2nd quilt.

We picked the fabrics out together just a few weeks ago, and she is already done with her baby quilt. I am so proud of her! I gave her a few instructions on how to make the block and she was able to go home and do the rest by herself. Way to go Nicole!

For the pattern, Nicole used Three Six Nine by The Quilt Company.

I used the same fabrics in the latest baby quilt I made. It's fun to see how differently the two quilts turned out.

The binding is on and ready to be sewn down by hand. Nicole put a wonderful pink minkee on the back. So soft. She even had a label ready before she left today.
I can tell Nicole is going to be a natural quilter. She has already caught on so fast and has fabric and a pattern ready for quilt #3.
Good job!

  10. Wonderful job on a beautiful baby quilt- well done Nicole - How nice for her to have you as a mentor quilter, Nedra- you did a good job too. That is one of the best parts of quilting- the friendships created while making something with fabrics.

  14. Oh, Nedra! The pictures of the quilts are delicious!

Several years ago we had a quilting group where I work. We had a few ladies who had never sewn and it was such fun to see them learn to sew and create a quilt. We did a log cabin and shared our fabrics. It was such fun and a few of them went on to make more.

Nicole did a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l job on her baby quilt. I love the pattern you showed her how to make.

    Hugs and snugs...
