Changing Lanes

I've always wanted to do a red and black quilt. When I was at IQF/ Long Beach I saw this fabric at the vendor booth "Pincushion Boutique".
It's called "Black, White, and Red All Over" by Windham Fabrics.
And they had this pattern that was Fat-Quarter friendly with the 8 FQ's in the pack.
"Changing Lanes" by Pressed for Time Quilt Works (Mary Hubka)
This pattern was exclusively designed for Pincushion Boutique and you can find it HERE.
A very easy quilt to make. I had it all cut and sewn in less than 2 days. You put it together in rows. In fact, this quilt would be great for a beginner. There are no pieces to match. I had so much fun getting it done quickly I will be going through my fat quarters to make more.

I forgot to take a picture of the finished quilt before I sent it off to the quilter! Duh! I promise I'll show you the finished quilt once I get it back. But, it had a black stop border, and I used this red for the outside border.

  3. I have used some of that fabric to make an Amy Butler purse for a friend. LOVE IT! I also really like those Sweet Treats that Pincushion Boutique puts together. I love to see them at quilt shows. I have a Sweet Treat that I bought from them years ago that I never did anything with. Hmmmmmmmm,

  6. I couldn't get a hold of any of that fabric...my quilt shop here in town has completely different taste then me. So I went to JoAnns and found fabric to do my own version of the Red, black and white all over. It is currently my fav quilt and is on my friend's bed and in the pics of her virtual tour (her house is now on the market). It has also become my blog header. I love the black and white with the hint of red thrown in. And that set of material was my inspiration. Your quilt looks wonderful on your design wall. Please post another pic when it gets back from the quilters. I would love to see it!
