Margaret's Latest

Margaret came over this evening to show me some of the things she has made from our purchases when we went on the So. Cal Quilt Run last week.

She made this purse for her sister Kaye. If I remember right, she said the pattern name is"Mariah".

Look at the cute border fabric that went with the cherry line of fabric.

While we were on the Quilt Run, I visited with store owners to show them a new product by Superior Threads called "Texture Magic". You've heard me mention this product before.
I've had so much fun representing Superior and being able to show stores the potential in using Texture Magic. You can use it on purses, quilts, clothing, home decor...the list is endless.
You sew Texture Magic to the back of a piece of fabric, apply steam, and within 20-30 seconds it shrinks 30% in every direction. It's so fun to work with!
Margaret made this purse using Texture Magic on the bottom portion, and on the pocket.
She stitched a grid every 1/2 inch, and then shrank the fabric before cutting out the bottom piece.

Texture Magic on the pocket.

She also made a cute little skirt for her grand daughter Zoey who just turned 4.

We saw this place mat pattern that is made in a pineapple design, and we thought: We wonder what it would be like to apply Texture Magic on the sides?

Margaret chose fall colors for her place mats.

And the sides worked up great in Texture Magic!
I will be making my own version of these place mats too, because now I want to give it a try.
Thank you Margaret for sharing your latest with me!

  4. Hey, Nedra and Margaret: It sure looks like you had a great time on that trip to California -- and I can't believe how much Margaret's already done since she got home! Love those bags, especially the blue one. I'm enjoying seeing what you're doing with Texture Magic. I've been working on several new patterns using it. I want to have them done in time for Long Beach, so better get busy. Check out my blog in a few days for more info.

Does it have to be sewn on the diagonal to work?

  10. I can't believe how much some people get done! I don't even make it to my sewing room in the basement once a week, nevermind sew several things in a week. I am so impressed. I love her blue bag from the texture magic. Hugs
