Pedal Pusher Quilt

 In February
Michael Miller Fabrics announced they would be
Sponsoring the 4th Annual Fabric Challenge
with the Modern Quilt Guild.
As a member of the
Phoenix Modern Quilt Guild I chose to participate
by designing
Pedal Pushers
size: 41 1/2" X 55 1/2"
 Each of us were given
(6) Fat Eight's of
Petal Pinwheels
and told that we could make anything we wanted
as long as it was quilted.
I chose to represent each fabric through what looked to me like
the spokes of a wheel.
Thus the name
 "Pedal Pushers"
 Technique:
English Paper Pieced (EPP)
 with the
I know "coffin" isn't a favorable term
but it is what they call this shape :)
 I really enjoyed
"fussy cutting" the fabric
which often created a
secondary patterns for the centers of each block.
Fabric started out looking like this.
 Beautiful Machine Quilting by
Pat Roche (Pat's Just Quilting)
I think this is my favorite flower.

The Modern Quilt Guild web site has a
Community Forum
full of pictures from those participating in the Challenge.
There are some pretty amazing quilts being submitted!
The prize from Michael Miller Fabrics:
This year we will pick 3 winners. Each one will receive a posting on our blog and “A year of Free Fabric”. Every month for a year we will send you a “Goody Box” filled with fabric from our newest collections.
