Rahna Summerlin Quilts

 Last August I took a picture 

at the IQF Long Beach Quilt Show

of  Rahna Summerlin's

Blooming In Chintz

 I love her style and designs!

While in Houston

Rahna and her husband approached me

and thanked me for featuring one of her quilts

on my blog.

During our conversation I learned Rahna has two quilts

here at International Quilt Festival!

Of course, I had to run right down 

as soon as I could

and check them out.

A very talented lady!

 Fish Scraps

 Rahna wrote:

"There are ten variations of fish on this quilt 

all foundation pieced, all original. 

I was inspired by two large boxes

of fabric samples given to me by an acquaintance

in the surf wear industry.

Almost all of the fabric on the front and back 

are from these ready-to-wear

fabric samples and remnants.

Approximately 220 hours went into the making 

of this quilt"

 Great use of scraps.

 There were a lot of people

standing nearby

oohing and aaahing over Fish Scraps.

quilt I saw in Sharon Newman's book

Treasures From Yesterday, Book 2

I made this quilt with lots of leftover triangles

from a prior quilt I had made the year before.  

I am constantly inspired by antique quilts and am

infatuated with scrap quilts from the early 

to mid 1900's.
