Linda Polenz
recently came and presented
a delightful trunk show
at our Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild
I love a good trunk show, don't you?
Linda's technique is attractive
because she uses a
"hinge method"
where you can sew your blocks together
on your own domestic machine.
featuring
Quilt As You Go
type patterns.
Linda is a fun and energetic teacher,
and she even had us singing
along during her presentation.
What Was I Thinking?
A great stash buster.
Using a Stitch and Flip method
Linda said the blocks look hard,
but they are actually very easy.
Flipped Over Hinging
uses 24 Fat Quarters with
additional fabric for the hinging
Another example of
Flipped Over Hinging
using Kaffe Fassett fabrics.
You know how I love those Kaffes
Eat More Cake
Strips and Stripes 40" X 66"
uses 5 Fat Quarters and 1 Neutral fabric
Another example of
Strips and Stripes
Because you work with small squares
these blocks are a good place to
practice machine quilting
and embroidery stitches.
Tomorrow I will show you a few more quilts
from Linda's trunk show.
You always have fun activities at your guild Nedra. Presenting is an art in itself. I enjoy good presenters. Actually I'm going to one this morning on Mindfulness, it's part of my work! Hugs Nat
