I've been having so much fun
making the blocks
for Lori's
Bee In My Bonnet
Row Along
I admit, I count the days
until the next row reveal!
As I've laid out all of the combined rows
next to each other,
it's given me a better perspective of
what the overall look will be.
This is somewhat of a mystery quilt,
where learn as we go.
When I stood back and scanned
Row 8
the Blue Mitten
seemed to over power the
rest of the quilt.
Kind of stood out
like a
Sore Thumb
if you know what I mean.
(teehee :)
Out came the seam ripper.
I opted for a lighter color fabric that blends
more with the other parts of the
quilt, and remade a
new mitten set.
Originally all of my mittens were facing the same way.
Then I noticed Lori had hers facing
up and down.
Out came the seam ripper again.
Row 8 / Remake looks
much better :)
Your mittens look so cute! I didn't think the turquoise mittens were too bright.....maybe I just couldn't tell in the photo. I really liked the "sore thumb" pun :). Your quilt is really beautiful! Are you still only using fabric from your stash? I have only used fabric from my stash for this quilt too. I loooove this quilt!!!
ReplyDeletea fun looking quilt and a good way to use up some large pieces of scraps and small ones too. How many more rows do you make?
ReplyDeleteThis is looking great. I admire your discipline in ripping out and changing what you don't like!
ReplyDeleteOoh! I love this quilt!
ReplyDeleteSeam rippers are a GOOD thing! One of my best friends for sure!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great quilt. I like the varied mittens too. I can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeletedid you sleep better after the aqua/pink mitten switch?
ReplyDeleteyour rows are looking spectacular.
can't wait to see your row of spools.
(don't mind me . . . i'm still four rows behind.
just bringing up the rear!)
