I really thought I'd have Criss Cross all finished by this weekend.
I've been diligent and have all 16 of the 22- inch blocks put together, and have most of the inside of the quilt assembled.
But then I noticed that the edge has 268 little 1-inch blocks set on point all around the outside border.
Hmm.... I may be at this a few more day.
The quilt implements 601 of these cuts.
Not hard to do, just time consuming.
Kind of like Eating an Elephant.
One piece at a time.
And can I just tell you?
I am loving this quilt more and more as I see it coming together!
I love it too!...
ReplyDeleteA scrap quilt at it's best:)
It's going to be amazing when it's complete... Keep going...
You're almost there!

What an amazing quilt! I love the pattern, and admire your diligence with all those squares. I don't think I would have had the patience to "eat the elephant"!!
ReplyDeleteOh ME TOO Nedra! ME TOO! I LOVE this design and after you posted this the other day I thought I had this pattern in an American Jane book I have but NO, this one is not in there, but I sure would like to try it! Lots of little fiddlee pieces and I LIKE quilts with LOTS of little pieces! I chuckled a little when you discovered there were a 'few' more pieces you were going to have to sew up!!
ReplyDeleteTry a little ketchup with that elephant, it might go down a little easier!!!
wonderful - a lot of work but worth it in the end!!

It really is coming along nicely. I don't think I'd be doing that border though. I think I would simplify and leave it out.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with it.
I'll tell you Nedra, it's always worthwhile to click into your posts! I HAD to find out what in the world could be like eating an elephant, as I have never eaten one before! You crack me up!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is going to be a real work of art there with all those tiny squares! Lovely!

The scrap quilts are always the most labor intensive, but I think the most rewarding. you will love this.
