Sorry I haven't had any pictures or posts to show you in the last few days. The home we were staying at in Huntington Beach didn't have a wireless connection for my lap top.
The Show was so much fun. Very crowded, but quilting people are the nicest people, and everyone was friendly and had smiles on their faces.
I will show you pictures of the last few days in two parts. Tomorrow will be part 2.
Right by the entrance was the Raffle Quilt designed/pieced by John Flynn and machine quilted by Sue Nickels.
WOW.
WOW again.
The Show 1,200 hung quilts. One section was traditional with a lot of folk art.
This Red Owl one just called to me.
Karin Peirce even did some simple hand quilting that added movement to the piece.
The Annunciation by Sonia Bardella of Italy was stunning.
Look at the detail work of the folds of the dress.
Besides the quilt show there were all the vendor booths and lots of shopping.
Some of the booths were so pretty. I wanted to buy everyone of these fat quarters, but of course, limited myself to just a few.
One of my favorite parts of the show was to go back to the Superior Threads booth from time to time to watch Annie tell everyone about Texture Magic. She had a crowd around her continually.
My favorite story of the last few days:
My friend Joann went to the restroom at the convention center. As she was in her stall (sorry to be so personal Joann!) she could hear two women conversing in the stalls next to her.
Woman #1 "I just picked up some of that crinkly stuff at the Superior Theads booth, did you see it?"
Woman #2 "Yes, and I can hardly wait to go home and start playing with it!"
Woman #1 "What was that stuff called again?"
Joann from her stall "Texture Magic!!"
Thanks Joann, we'll take marketing from any position.
Wonderful pics, looks like a great show!

I love the story about JoAnn. It's fun hearing stories like that and seeing all of the great pictures you took. It helps me feel like I was there and the best part of it is I didn't feel the least bit tempted to buy fabric. lol!
