I took it to Judi Madsen of Green Fairy Quilts here in St. George, and I think she did a beautiful job.
I had asked Judi to do some radiating stitches around the hens. She had never done this technique before, but look how well she did. I am very happy with how this quilt turned out.
Judi is a young mom, with 3 small children and is relatively new at her long arm profession. I see great things in her future. All of her work is custom done and she's very good at interpreting a quilt.
We used a light yellow So Fine thread from Superior Threads. So Fine is wonderful to work with on a long arm. I wanted the fabric and applique to be noticed and the quilting to blend in. So Fine is a 50 weight polyester, and works well for blending.
Judi also is a pattern designer so make sure to check out her web site.
It's absolutely gorgeous! Your fabrics are wonderful, and the quilting is beautiful!

ReplyDeleteThat quilt is absolutely adorable. I have the pattern. I got it at the Daisy Cottage in St. George last year when we were visiting my brother and his family. Fun little quilt store. I have yet to make the Hen quilt however. You are really good at inspiring me.
