Laptop Computer Carrier

A few weeks ago I took a class from my friend Annie Unrein. I wanted to learn how to make her Laptop Computer Carrier.
I received a new lap top for Christmas and have been carrying it around in an old bag that I think Mr. Cactus picked up at a computer trade show years ago. I knew one made from Annie's pattern would be a lot nicer, and much better looking.

Annie is a wonderful teacher. She was very helpful in explaining each detail of the carrier.

This is the Laptop Purse on the front of Annie's pattern. You can purchase her pattern HERE.
She also sells the finishing kits which saved me a lot of time that I didn't have to spend hunting for each piece.

I made mine out of the fabric line "Ginseng" by Joel Dewberry.

This is the inside of the bag before I sewed the sides on. Annie's pattern has you finish every seam with a bias binding. I think the inside looks as good as the outside

Voile! This carrier measures 12" X 14 1/2".

Side 2. There are 4 outside pockets, the middle one is zippered.

I have always been a little intimidated about putting in zippers and making them look good. Annie taught me a technique that was so easy, and look at the results. Those instructions alone made the class worth it.

Side pockets in contrasting fabrics.

I love the adjustable padded shoulder strap.
Now my lap top can be happy and stylin' at the same time.

  1. Great laptop case! It looks so cute! I have never made one of Annie's patterns but I know I will someday. One of my friends from my quilt guild loves Annie's wallet purse and tote patterns. She raves about how well written they are.

  10. Hey, Nedra, that laptop case looks terrific! Great job! I love seeing pictures of things that people make using my patterns. Your fabric choices were terrific. That dark brown binding really sets off the other fabrics nicely. Thanks for sharing!
